"Max Portsmouth is the short boy at position 07 (of the top row)".
"The first boy on the left of the front row is Roger Hanson. His father was a medical doctor living in Burnham. The fifth boy from the left seated at the front is John Munro, shortly before his death. The sixth boy from the left and seated I believe was called Knight. He was John's best friend, and form captain. I remember his great distress when John was killed. A bus ran into him cycling. The accident was in Station Road, Burnham. It made a great impact on us all, and I also remember the sickening feeling I had at seeing the road safety light at the Crown junction changed to red for a week when John was killed."
"Top Row (1-12) 2. John Pape/ 6. Mike Johnson/ 8. Jones?/ 9. Murphy/ 10. Eric Hill/ 11. Roger Monks Middle Row (1-8) 1. Jepson?/ 2. Ian Lambert/ 3. Greenfield/ 6. John Fowler? Bottom Row(1-10) 2.
